These original wood docks at Bingen Harbor were the Port's first attempt at a marina facility. Though no slips were constructed, there was sufficient space for several tie-ups. However, bad weather and ice (as shown here) quickly took their toll and the docks fell into disrepair. Rotting pilings, damaged docks, and unsafe conditions led to their removal a few years after this photograph was taken. The future location of the Port's first building can be seen in the background near the upper right corner of the photo while the Port's original single-lane boat launch is just beyond the lower right edge of the photo.
